So which is it? Will I need to take out the axle on a New Edge to replace the studs? Or can I just knock them out?

This video makes it look so easy

There's NO need to pull an axle. I did mine in my garage last month and it was a breeze.

This guy explained it perfectly.

ORIGINAL: 8banger

you have to pul the Brake caliper and bracket...Remove the rotor...drive out the bad stud and use a stud installer.....Its really no big deal......

OK, so I finally got to it and banged the stud out. I was a little skeptical cuz of some of the other things I had read (pulling axles, etc.), but ZW99GT and 8banger were right on the money. Absolutely no need to pull the axle or take ABS rings off. I snaped a couple pics and thought I would put them up.

I hammered it out, once loose it was at an extreme angle to clear the ABS ring, but it did come out with a little banging. Once putting the new one on, again extreme angle but I used a lug nut to pull it through and the rest was history.

Hope it helps somebody else down the line.
