You can, but in the long run it'd cost more than doing a complete DOHC engine swap.

how much is a DOHC engine swap gonna run me? if i wait like 5 years for the swap, will it be cheaper?

Ah hell. Wait a few years, then go to the junk yard and get a 32 valve OHC Mach 1 engine.
