RE: getting my mustang to breathe
well the tunable induction comes with the green filters now, which are supposed to outflow the k&n... which in turn, i assume makes them ever worst than the k&n in terms of engine life... OH WELL. change your oil more often or atleast the oil filter and youll have nothing to worry about

04 Rocket, I guess so no-one said it, welcome to the forums! and welcome to the brutha-hood of stang owners.
First, when you ask a question, expect everyone to forget about it, get off on tangents, and leave you hanging. It took me a while, but now it's all good.
If you see someone with a set-up that your considering, PM (private message) them... It will generate a one on one response with some sincerity. Also, do searches on the subject that you are researching. Just go to search, put in the topic, then chose the applicable forum. Then read away. Once you decide on which item you want, then you can google, ebay, or hit vendors for the lowest price. My shifter was normally $190 and I got it for $80. My Cold Air Intake was normally $180 and I got it for $30, then elected to buy a K&N enlarged cone for $45, so $75 invested.
Best advice is research, PM, and absorb.
Whoops, almost forgot to answer your question, the 04 is safe to mod away. But before you believe any of us yahoo's on the bulletin board, you should call your dealer for warranty questions. I have modded the Bimmer, Jeep, and Harley with minor bolt-ons and the Harley with major ones, then taken them in for warrenty work with never a eye-brow raised from the dealer. Just watch inspections depending on where you live (NY or CA).
Everyone says gears first, but I like speed so I went with a cold air intake first. If you get a big enough filter size, you get huge gains in response, exhaust note, and probably a few horses. Next is suspension, then, Throttle body and Plenum, then exhaust.
Good luck and again, welcome.

Not too much, but it will take some life off the engine. That said I run a K&N on my stang and my Harley

04redrocket... Get the 75mm TB either BBK or Accufab, go with the C&L Plenum and Get yourself a new MAM or go with the tunable induction as it includes one. For exhaust, if you want a "classic tone" go with a catless H-pipe and some baffled mufflers. Baffled muffler suck though. If you want better flow then get yourself some free flowing mufflers from MAGNAFLOW (shameless plug i know...) Good luck and WELCOME, don't forget to have fun!

RE: getting my mustang to breathe
Hey everyone! Thanks for the feedback. My intention is to get better response and better sound from my stang. Its a metallic redfire clear cloat 5-speed, 40th anniversary series, with 5-spoke chrome rims. Pics coming soon.
I was thinking of 3" exhaust, with 3 1/2" tips. 70-75mm throttle body. I'm torn between slp, magnaflow, etc for exhaust. Is it recommended that an H or X pipe accompany the exhaust upgrade????
Its all about the sound and performance! A Deep classy sound thats louder than the stock.
Thanks for your assistance!

AFAIK you a basically correct, based off reading I've done about the various oil types - and how they work. CAVEAT...If you change your oil every 2-3K it is basically null and void though.
Take care,
Ceyko
(BTW, I did not read any of the links posted...so maybe I'm missing something. )
