okay, my CEL is on and i have to get emissions within the next couple of days. if i disconnect the battery and the light goes away will i pass emissions? or when they hook it up to the computer, will it still show the codes for the o2 sensors?

If you reset your computer it will not work, I tired it and when they pluged it in they were unable to communicate with it or something like that, so theyhad to run it on the sniffer, which i failed. I would just get the code read and either fix it or just erase it and then go to emissions

i just read that your cel is on for a o/r pipe, you will need to get mils or a tuner to turn them off, I am not sure if you clear the codes if you will pass or not, but if you do a hard reset you will not pass by being plugged in

Your car will fail the visual inspection if the Check Engine Light is on. Even if you get it to stay off, your car doesn't have chance in hell to pass an emissions test.

every county has different rules, i passed with a o/r h pipe and mils, if you dont have a visual inspection and they only plug in to your car you will pass if you get the cel off with out a hard reset

Well did you pass or fail? I they just plug into your OBDII, you should be OK as long as the codes are gone and the light is off. But if you have to take a sniff test up the tail pipe just like you did, he will almost certainly fail. Or if they look under the car and see no cats.
