Default Electric gauges

Good morning !

This week end my son , and i will be installing electric oil pressure, and water temp gauges on his 96'GT .
My question is . Where is the best place to install the sending unit for the water temp gauge on a 4.6 motor?
Hewant's the original gauge to function also . So removing the factory sending unit is out

I have not done this but IMO i would say for the closest reading to the stock guage then i would put it as close as possible to the stock sending unit. but like i said i havent done it.

I would , but there are no plugs that can be removed . We are having a difficult time locating a place to install the sending unit
where as coolant will flow on the sending unit .

Do you have an aluminum cross over on the intake or is it the stock plastic one? If it's an aluminum just drill and tap a hole near the stock.
