Just didn't want to deal with checking it. I wouldn't be able to sleep and rainy season is coming. + it looks good, I think. Where do I get a bigger filter? How much $?

youll prob have to do some customization unless you find one that has a rubber clamp around it thats the exact size of the end of that filter. you should be able to search around for replacement CAI filters and just find one that will fit or close to it and go from there.

Theres just so much plastic in the way of the water... it would be one hell of a situation, aka the car would probably be floating.

IMO though a RAI is just as good as any fendermount CAI. Most of the RAI kits pull right from the area where the hole is in the fender anyway, and come with a heat sheild. In any case, if you can get any CAI/RAI to differ by more than 1-2 WHP your doing very well.

if your old intake was full blown stock (aka no K&N filter, etc), then I "think" your gonna get 2-3 HP to the wheels TOPS
thats not true - the cold air is good for 10-15hp, just the restriction alone does that pretty much (in the filter). But its about 1-3 whp, its a good mod for 50 bucks or less - but its retarded to spend more than that imo.

I have the fender style kit and I have been wondering... is the fenderwell style with a smaller filter the same/better/worse than an RAI with a larger conical filter, also seeing that at the track you can pull the headlight for more air? And just to play devils advocate for a moment, I have the fender style and I have pulled enough water from a puddle to stall my motor. It did no permanant damage but still... it kinda sucked.

i have the stock pipe with a K&N, but the down part of it is that you are going to pull only HOT air fro the engine bay, your car its gojng to feel a bit slow when its hot.

Why would you take it out of the fender? It has cooler Air temp in the fender than under the hood. It doesn't make sense to me. Please explain...

i did the same thing with my t.i intake, but (i just unbolted the elbows not cut them) i put the factory airbox back on so it works as a heat sheild. im about to take the factory silencer and cut it short enough to where its out of the engin bay and just in the fenderwell so it vacuums up that cold air(yea right). and it wont be all low like my old CAI was

you know, if you sucked rain into the intake, would it just not evaporate and cool the intake charge similar to water injection? I mean... I doubt your intake would suck the air all the way into the intake manifold but I could be wrong..

Nice looking intake though.
