Default Moded My Intake (Pic's)

I put on my new intake today but I put my own take on it. I cut off the two bends that put it in the fenderwell and ran it straight into the engine bay. I did this to eliminate the chance of water getting into the filter when it rains as well as less restrictions. Anybody see any problems with it?? It seems to run great, no issues, nice idle.

Why didn't you just buy a short ram intake? You kind of re-invented the wheel there.

It looks good, but yea, you could have saved your self a lot of work and fabrication if you just bought a non-fenderwell intake in the first place. (e.g. JLT RAI)

I paid $40 for this intake set up. What's a shorty go for? I thought I was smarter than a 5th grader, no?

My K&N sits there. It's fine, but like they said, you could've bought the intake like that new.

How much is a RAI, I didn't research it first, but like I said, I only paid$40 and it was cool moding it myself. I feel like it's custom now. Is there a real noticable gain with this set up vs stock? I haven't drove it yet except around the block, I'll find out in the morning.

if your old intake was full blown stock (aka no K&N filter, etc), then I "think" your gonna get 2-3 HP to the wheels TOPS

If you paid $40, then you did good.

I bought my C&L with t/b and upper intake, so it was a little more than that.
