Gas mileage after boosting..
Hey all this post is mainly for all the forced injected people out there. I'm looking into getting a blower on the car, still cant deside between which one though. But from going from an N/A car to a boosted car (anyless then 10psi) how large was the mileage drop did anyone notice? I have heard that my mileage wont drane at all, to being within 16+ mpg city... I own a 02' gt with 84k miles on it, I get between 21-22mpg average mix driving. What mileage are people pumping out these days with the KB's, Prochargers, or the Vortechs?
Thanks Kenneth K.
PS. which blower would suit me better to hit around 380-400whp right now then over 450whp once I get a built bottom end?.. I would be using the car for mostly crusing around town to road racing once a month.
Thanks Kenneth K.

I went from 20 MPG highway to 21.5 MPG highway with the blower. This is with full exhaust, boltons, 3.73 gears, and cams. the cams killed MPG quite a bit, maybe 2-3 MPG with them, so I bet a stock cammed car would do alot better.
The blower doesn't seem to effect the highway MPG.. but city dropped really bad. I can't keep my foot out of it, and just a few squirts at WOT and it drops down into the low teens. If I am on it hard the entire tank your talking 7-8 MPG
If your going to definatly get a built shortblock get either the D from procharger, the novi 2000, the T trim from vortech, or get the larger KB blower for our GTs. I am not sure what the 2.1KB is rated at now, I know its better than the 1.7 was, but I am not sure what the upper rating is.
Most of the time, at least with the T trim from vortech, its only a few hundred more. I kick myself every time I think I could have spent another 400 bucks and gotten a T instead of the SQ

RE: Gas mileage after boosting..
I just got my car back from the shop with a new ProCharger installed a couple of days ago. I was getting about 20.6 mpg with 3.73 gears before. After my first tank of gas, I got 21.3 mpg with the blower.
