That makes perfect sense, but you are right i have been being told to go for the L/T because the shorties arent even worth getting for the money. All of my mods. are just minor bolt-ons as well..
ORIGINAL: GrayGhost01GT

alot of people are gonna tell you to go with Long Tubes but in reality depending on your mods the difference between long tubs and mid length and shorties is that if you just have Bolt on's go with mid length or shorties you wont gain but 1-2 HP with the Long tubes with just bolt on's now if you have a forced induction, it is probably gonna be better to go with a long tube header. They have done numerous reviews on the headers and dyno test! So long story short!

Basic Bolt on's = Shorties

Supercharger, Turbo, = Long Tubes.

Search Long Tubes Vs. Shorties on Google mybe that review might come up and help you understand better!

If you are going to put on longtubes you will have to pull the motor. If you are just putting on a x or h pipe yes you can do it with a floor jack and no buddys. Its a peice of cake. You will also want to invest in a set of MIL eliminators if you are running a catless setup, or just make your own from afew parts from radio shack. As as far as mufflers, if you want loud, go off road midpipe with SLP loudmouth 1's. I have a offroadh with LM1's and its obnoxiously loud.
