Default supercharger fuel pump issue

Hey guys.. I'm having a shop install the KB 2.2 Liter kit in my car.. I'm really getting pissed off at this piece of chit shop because they are taking way too long to install this thing. I had them install the 40amp boost-a-pump but they are telling me that it is maxing out the fuel pump voltage and they need to install a new fuel pump or I will be stuck at only 380hp... and that I should keep the boost-a-pump with the new fuel pump....

My questions is: do I really need to have both the boost a pump and a new fuel pump or this shop making me take up the a$$. I thought with a new fuel pump I could get rid of the boost a pump?

my car: 2001 gt.. mostly stock.

The SVT focus pump will be more than enough for your setup, without the boost a pump. I don't see any reason you need to have both the boost a pump and the new SVT Pump with a stock motor.

What fuel pump do they say they are installing?

Note that KB does not recommend using the BAP with the SVT Pump, as they have not done any testing on this and will not gaurentee it will work ok...

If they won't give you a discount on not needing the BAP tell them to install the SVT Pump and then give you the BAP along with the pacakaging for it, and either keep it or sell it on ebay. The SVT pump is more than enough for anything you can throw at the stock shortblock and have it survive (the shortblock)

thanks for the advice.. I'm trying to just get them to RMAthe BAP.. b/c they were the ones that said I needed it then they started saying I needed the focus pump.. LOL.. and considering they are trying to put the BAP and the focus pump together is pretty funny considering they came recomended by the people at Kenne Bell.. ROFL.. Dagostino Racing just sucks.. I've seen pictures of the install and it looks like they are going a good job but damn.. they are taking WAY to long on the install and now this... I don't recomend them at all.

+1.. I am running the focus pump with factory wiring harness and no boost-a-anything. It does great except when it gets down below 1/8th tank or so.. under wot it will suck the sending unit dry. No big deal though, just keep gas in it.
