Default 01 mustang GT-need help

The only thing I have going on is every once and a while when I try to start the car it seems to stall and backfire. This GT is a manual transmission and I am positive that the clutch was all the way in each time I attempted to start it. Usually it starts on the next try and always throws the same code (P0340-cam shaft position sensor). I figured since it was such a cheap part and so easy to replace I would do that first then chase wires and so far no luck. If you have any ideas I would love to hear them. I want to try to fix this while it is just annoying and not causing any major problems. It seems to always happen when the car is on an incline. I changed the oil, filter, PCV valve, recharged the K&N, and changed the plugs about 2 weeks ago. When I moved the fuel rail injectors 5 & 6 came out. I decided to replace the o-rings while the injectors were out and I haven't seen any signs of a fuel leak.

Remove you alternator and take it up to auto zone and have them test it. 90% of the time the cps code is cause by a bad alt.

Not so sure about the backfire, but our engines have problems with the IAC causing an immediate staul after initial start up. You could try cleaning your IAC.
