its most likely not your shock / strut im almost 100% sure that it is your tubular lower control arm..the boot has worn and water has gotten in to it and caused it to rust..which every time you turn your wheel or go over a bump and it moves it will squeak...to check this put it up on lift or jack it up, take off the tire and look...temporary fix is to spray wd40 in it until you can buy a new bushing..its a common problem with the mustang control arms...just my .02 from EXP

The front control arms aren't tubular if its stock. I forgot about that isolator though.

yeah, it doesnt really sound like a shock, but i couldnt really think of what else it could be. when im makin sharp turns and turning the wheel a lot, it just sounds like something is rubbing. sounds like something needs lubed... :-/

If it was your shock going bad it would make a clunking noise.

i'll look when i go home from school in a couple days. i need to change the oil on it anyways and i should probably rotate the tires

hopefully its only the bushing. i was going to get lowering springs and new shocks and struts next summer. i cant really afford to get into anything expensive right now. and i dont want to ask my dad for money to fix it. he already said he'd pay to get my transmission rebuilt.
