I see you have a K&N filter. Sounds like you may have over-oiled your filter.

I've never heard of a PCV valve throwing oil into the filter or from the filter ALL the way to the Throttle body.

A bad pcv valve isn't the only thing that can cause oil to be thrown into the intake. Too much oil in the crankcase also causes that.

+1 on possible other causes.

Mypcv valve is on the other side of the 'V'(L/H side).

I know very little about diagnostics or commonalitiesbut from what I know about the mechanics of the vehicle,I would check things like oil level, valve seats and head seals

Check the oil level first if it is good then check thePCV.A plugged PCV can cause oil in the intake tube. If is is totaly pluged it will put a lot of oil in the tube since the only way for crankcase pressure to get out of the engine is from thePCV intake tubegoing from the driviers side valve cover to the intake tube itself. Take the PCV out and shake it you sholod hear a rattleing sound, also check the vaccume line from the PCV to the upper intake, make sure it is not plugged.

Remember that the PCV is screwed in like most gas caps. There is like one big thread on it. You turn it about 1/4 turn and it pops out. If the PCVis ok then you have a lot of blowby and will need to run the two valve covers to an external PCV filter.

Lightning Ownerhere.....ALL TOO FAMILIAR WITH THIS PROBLEM

Sounds like too much oil to me. A N/A 4.6l should not have the oil sucking problem like the S/C 5.4l. Do an oil change and roll with 5 1/2 quarts of oil.

Hmmm...I replaced mine today and my PCV didn't have any threads on it. In fact I just pulled straight up and it came right out. Pulled the little rubber elbow thing off of the line and put it on the new PCV and put the new one straight back down. Turning it did nothing for me, even though I had read you have to turn them to remove them. BUt the new PCV looked just like the one I took out, seemed to go in with less friction that I thought, hope it doesn't fly out.
