The cobra rears are a waste of money.

The cobra swap up front is a great upgrade, the bigger rotors and better caliper just make the car stop much faster, and it has a more solid braking feel, espcially when getting hard on the brakes.

I could tell an immediate difference with the 13 inch rotor upgrade. There is one downside though... you cannot run a 15 inch wheel up front (like a draglight) without spacers and longer studs.

you guys are a great help...

yeah i dont really have the cash to get those brembo's now... to be honest im trying to not spend a ton on the stang, i want to build a better stang based car later. the gt is my "DD / hold me over" car.

i prolly wont touch the rear brakes... i took it into the dealer today and they told me the front are pritty bad, so i have to get them fixed soon. ive been having some "idling" issues with it... and get to spend money fixing it.

Just get the mach 1 kit. Unless your road racing its going to be more than enough for your needs.

I have the bullitt kit (same as mach/cobra kit) and its more than enough stopping power, even bleeding off 120+ MPH runs.

Actually...those look pretty close to the Mach kit, but more expensive.

By the way, Stangatic, thealcon brakes from stage 3 performance that are on clearance do have the word ROUSH on the side. I looked into getting the calipers powder coated (the word roush is indented, so just painting them wouldn't completely cover up the indentation of the word). It would look fine on a GT....just not on a saleen imo.

As a side note, they dropped the price from $1650 to $1499. I'd just go buy this kit and then sell the rear ones online to offset some of the cost.

None of these performance companies (saleen, roush, steeda, etc.) make their own brake products. The roushes are alcon brakes, the saleen brakes you see on the older body style are either alconsor the brembo cobra R kit with "saleen" written on the caliper.

Thanks for that info. I went back and did my research and it seems like there was a time (99-01) where alcon was printed on the side. I thought thebrakes from stage 3 had alcon on the side; however, it doesn't really matter since i am building a roush hybrid clone.

Anyways thanks for bringing that to my attention. I can't believe I did not see that.

P.S. joshafmiljust get the Mach 1s.

is there a reason why no-1 is running crossdrilled and slotted rotors?

You can run cross drilled and slotted rotors, but they're normally more expensive (or don't come in some of the more commonbrake packages).
