What's the point? If anything, going from a 6 rib to an 8 rib for a blown car would be the thing if running alot of boost

Yea, there is no point. If you’re afraid of parasitic loss in your AC or alternator, then look at an electric water pump.

Why bother. You'd be shaving like a pound off your car mabey. There are much better ways of weight reduction.

well you could always just take the blower off and send it to me :-). that'll shave off some weight. :-)

romer - where you/are you also an import fan? I dont mean that in a negative way, but a lot, a LOT of honda guys get pulley systems that are lightened over stock pulleys(not underdrives), and being the owner of an accord with a prelude motor swap with the lightened PS + ALT pulleys, it does make a bit of difference....

I gained a few horses/better throttle response just due to less drag on the engine and really picked up about 3 or so mpg on highway driving....

however...

on mustangs, which weigh a ton a have a lot more power than imports, the power that you free up isnt as easily noticed....( if you add 5 hp to 260, thats like adding 1.3% power.... if you add 5 hp to 100hp....thats 5% added power...)

with a mustang you're bettre off just getting an underdrive pulley set.....prior to supercharging, i had a steeda set on mine andthey worked great, better throttle response, less 'hanging revs', and maybe 1-2 better mpg cruising....

Nah the thing is I already have an underdrive pulley set (MAC). So i guess I was just looking for an excuse to buy something else than stock pullies. (don't have the originals).
