Default Issue with my 97GT

Question- Stupid maybe, I've got a 97GT headswapped, C&L Plenum and a 75mm throttle body, BBK cold air. 24lb FRPP injectors. My problem is when I get on it, it goes like hell but then it acts like it's governed out the RPM's rise but the car isn't going any faster? Not getting enough fuel? (stock fuel pump). Or is that my 4:10 gears are just holding me back (5 speed)? Any help would be appreciated!

May be the rev limiter. What RPM does this happen at?

If it was the rev limiter would the rpm's still show an increase? If the timing jumped for some reason would it cause this? Not sure but I ordered a fuel pump tonite anyway, just to take that out of the equation.

It has 74K on the car and about 1500 miles on the King Cobra clutch. The clutch feels solid yet. Maybe I should go with a dual friction? Thanks for the idea though! I'll look into it.

If your giving it gas and the RPM's rise and you arn't going any faster it means your clutch is slipping.
