Default springs + rubbing

im loking for some springs.. i have seen tons of post for this, but i was wondering how low/ what kind of springs can i get w/o worring about rubbing? I have a mach one, and am going to leave the factory wheels on for now, but might go to 18s later on... any ideas would help greatly.. Also, what about caster camber kits.. do i need these?
Thanks

you can do Steeda, we had 1 1/2" drop on my wife's Stang. She had 18x9 wheels with those springs at one time with no rubbing issues.

I have a '98 GT with Steeda sport springs, Tokico shocks & struts with KYB quads. I like the set-up and there is no clearance problem and no absolute necessity to add further suspension bolt-ons to compensate for an overlowered chassis. Below 1 1/2" lowering and you have a whole new set of issues to confront. Caster/chamber plates is just one. Without them you don't have a prayer of getting your front end alignment into spec. If you want to see a Steeda lowered GT, just put in a search for "Deannostang" and take a look. I've posted some profiles you might find interesting. Good luck with your ride!

no diffrence the weight diffrence is marginal and the suspensions for after market are the same for the mach and GT. you may want to get a bumpsteer kit also mine likes to do it after i had gotten my car lowered.

I experience occasional bump-steer....didn't know I could get rid of it. I'll have to read up on this.

Got to: www.steeda.com, click in upper left corner on Mustang, then click on suspension in the menu to the right and scroll down to bumpsteer kit. There is also an overview and installation instructions available on the bumpsteer page. For some reason my link never changed within their site otherwise I would have given you that instead. Good info here. I hope they get their new site bugs worked out. Although I do have a MAC. I guess I just like speed. Power MAC's scream!
