Default PI Intake Question

I have a 2001 GT and my intake manifold is one of the older style plastic ones w/o the aluminum crossover. Is there any hp benefit to switching to the PI Intake, or is the aluminum crossover the only plus?

Default RE: PI Intake Question

Your 2001 already has a PI (performace improved) intake manifold. It is the 96-98 that would benifit from the swap. The aluminum cross over is because the stock plastic cross over has a tendance to crack and cause a coolant leak.

I say no, but you need to switch to the aluminum x over, just to avoid the chance of cracking. Now on that note, I had the PI intake and had a problem. I switched to the typhoon (some people hate, but I'll give my $.02 once it comes back from getting new hood and bumper installed.) and i look forward to seeing how it holds up.
