RE: MGW vs. Pro 5.0 vs. Steeda TriAx
is the blue one that much shorter and is it difficult just to drive around town or should I just go with red.
PS you guys got me hooked on the MGW.lol mainly cause of the easier installation and no noise[sm=smiley20.gif]

I have no problems driving with the blue handle. It is a litter tougher to shift (less leverage) but not difficult once it is broken in. I am 6-2 and I like it.
My shifter install write up
Here is the write up I did on installing the shifter in a '03GT and changing the fluid.

Thanks
It was worth it to change the fluid. I had the TSB done on the tranny just before I put it away. I planned on putting purple in it when I changed the shifter. It is much smoother and I don't have the 1-2 grind anymore (TSB should have solved it but still seemed to do it when I put it away)
Only tacked on maybe 10mins into the whole install. Hardest part was getting the tranny plug out[:@]

My Tri-Ax made some noise when I first got it, but it's going away. I don't mind it....all that matters is that you don't have a stock shifter anymore. Everyone will have their opinions.

I had never heard of the MGW shifter until I got on this forum, I need to get a new 1 and I think I might go with that. I have a Tri-Ax now, but I just got a 3650, so I think I might go with the MGW.

Nice write up. I have a question for you. Is it nessesary to jack the car if your not changing the fluid? Is the installation easy if your not changing the fluid? thanks!

It makes it easier if you jack the car up to get at the bolt. I just jacked it by the K-member popped it free, removed to let drain. Put her on the ground again to get all the fluid out. Did everything up top I needed to the tranny ready to install the shifter. Picker her back up, put some thread sealent on the plug (it's a pipe plug) reinstalled, lowered back down and poured in the fluid.
Pretty easy.
