well i also have a 01 GT and i would say yea those are some good mods to start out with but if you get the TB go ahead and get the plenum with it. Then get some gears i have 4.10's and i love them. For exhaust id suggest going for LT's though they can cost some money but my opinion stay away from the BBK X pipe or X pipe for that matter. Now not to bash an stang guys with an X but i had the BBK X on mine and it sounded like crap, and every stang i hear with an X just doesnt sound good to me. My friend has an 03 GT and he put a MAC o/r H pipe matched with his flows and it's the best sound i have heard. Hope that helps. If you modify your car just for the sound, then I'd follow this advice.

Otherwise the advice I was given was LT headers, an x pipe and Borlas (I don't like a very loud car, so I'd personally choose borlas over flows/magnapacks).

I dont know whose car you heard with borlas... but i can say that mine is much louder than i expected for..

when i went looking, i wanted something that would sound mean as hell, but no loud as to draw attention of cops.. .well, i got both.. something very menacing, and equally as loud..

but maybe its my O/R H... who knows

borla makes several systems. like the system saleen put on my car (borla) is ultra quiet. cant even hear it

come to think of it, i remember other people saying theyve heard other borlas besides the stingers, and wanted them louder,, that takes care of my issue..haha, easy enough

you could put 390 for yuo gearing if you don't want 410 but did want more than 373.

From the responses I got on here a few months ago, Borlas will be much quieter than Magnaflows or Flowmasters with the corresponding Exhaust mods I mentioned earlier.
