Does Anyone know why my 2001 mustang gt has hydraboost(Brakes that run off of power steering)?
does ford put it in there stock to add the option of a turbo/supercharger?
im a truck guy and all ive ever known to have it is full size trucks

I was an engineer at the company that designed and made the hydroboost. With the 4.6l engine, there wasn't enough room under the hood for a vacuum booster, so that was really their only option. They were dying to get rid of it due to the increased cost over a vacuum booster.
*edit*- They've used this part on deisel trucks and some of those full size GM deiselcars due to a lack of manifold vacuum.
