Hey guys, im brand new to the forum and brand new to mustangs as i just got a 2000 GT. My question concerns putting a 01-04 GT hood scoop on my 2000 GT. Are they the same hood or are they different, minus the scoop. They look the same to me, i just want to be sure.

They are the same. You would be better off buying an '01+ complete hood with scoop. The scoops alone are pretty expensive.

the hoods are all of the same 99-04....but yeah it would prolly be easier to just buy a hood, rather than painting, installing a hood scoop by itself

Not always true... I found a hood scoop from a local club member for 50 bucks.. 40 bucks paint so I was 90 in. Installed in about 20 mins (with a drill and a wrench). Hardest part it drilling the holes.. don't want to mess up there

the hood is pricey. You could get the scoop from a boneyard pretty cheap and pay someone to paint and install it for you cheaper.

why would you want to put the scoop on ur car? so it looks newer? Its not even funcional...save that money and get some performance upgrades.

its all about what you like and what you want... i like the scooped hood also... not cause it makes the car seem newer... just the way the car looks... it has a different stance of its own with the newer hood... looks meaner, i like mean...

My fox body buddy wants me to trade a V6 for his hood... says it reminds him of the 99 01 "reverse" cobra hood... anyone done that??? Seems like it would be a downgrade to me... says that the GT hood with the scoop is just to GT and I need to get rid of it...

I would go to Mustang Parts.com and get the Complete hood from a Salvaged mustang and get it painted. Look for Salvaged parts Cheaper but make sure they are in excellent Condition!!!

I have never bothered to look on a 01+, but I do know that on my 00 w/ Factory hood scoupe (spring edition) the scoupe is smaller than the 01+. Also, my scoupe lines up with the two creases in the hood, where as the 01+ seem to cover them a bit.
