Where is the best place to get the A/C fixed? Dealership, or a little mom-and-pop place?

I have a 2001 GT, that has been blowing hot air all the time even when the system is turned off (but the A/C always worked)

This weekend it was hot and I had to turn on the A/C, but no cold air ever came out. In fact, it was like a fire breathing monster. It wasn't even a little bit cooler.

So I was wondering if I have a lot of problems or do I have a little wire or vac line out of place?

I would use a mom and pop place. Just about anyone can service A/C on newer models and they usually charge about half in labor what a stealership charges.
