well i didn't known you hada oil pressure issue. replace the pump and screen first. and see what happens. that may very well fix your problem.

I can't hear the sound, but just by what you said, it's fairly easy to tell if there's a problem with oil starvation.. If you get a tapping or ticking, especially at the top of the engine, it leans towards a starvation issue; not always, but most times.. I would've recommended checking the oil level..

How'd it get clogged btw?? All those finish nails you put in there?? [8D]

Oh, btw, it would've also been $8 x 16 unless you're rocking a DOHC engine...

AH... Wel my tensioners went bad and there was plastic/shavings in the oil.. I replaced the tensioners but like a jackass I didn't replace the pump/screen at the same time.

Gotcha.. Well, the good news is, as long as you didn't really get on the car, or drive it much after the install, you should be okay.. You may want to prime the engine first before you start it, to prevent any additional issues...

After this though, you may want to just be careful when changing the oil and check for a metallic sheen in the oil, or filter it out to see if you get any flakes.. I don't think you will (depending on the abuse you put it through), but it's always good to check..

I see.. Well, I guess it didn't get too damaged then....

Good luck on the start though.. Make sure you get that engine primed with oil first and foremost..

Does this mean that after spending $600 on replacing the tensioners, I am going to have to drop another grand or so on fixing the top end? **** that! I have a wedding to pay for!

Your car is throwing a code! Get it scanned and see what it say. Autozone,Advanced, pepboys will do it for free.

This is my first time really looking around this site and actually reading some of the threads. The way you all chipped in with you r knowledge and helped this guy is quite admirable. It makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside to be both a mustang owner and a member of Mustang Forums.
