bbk plenum
anyone had any experience with the new bbk 78mm throttlebody, plenum combo?
thinking about buying. seems like a really good deal at $250.00
is it too large for an engine with just bolt ons?
i have mac prochamber h, bbk cold air intake, march underdrive pulleys, flowmaster catback, granitelli tuner and 3.73 gear.
thanks for any help.

I had a Fuego, I feel your pain...For any n/a setup 70 mm is plenty big, 75 mm reduces charge velocity at WOT (though not reallyenough to matter). A 78 mm TB will further reduce charge velocity at WOT, once again probably not enough to matter in the real world--however it will be more than a 75.This is draft stuff at this time, however the numbers prove that for n/a applications 70 mm is as big as you need to go, and if you actually use WOT a 75 mm TB will add nothing. This is BBK's marketing department grabbing you by the cajones...
Couldn't be happier--the PP 70 mm TB and plenum, UPR catted X-pipe and Magnaflow catback, and Sniper SF tune got me to 252 rwHP/296 ftlb--with only VERY basic bolt-ons.
The biggest deal was the tweaked Sniper tune, if you study my dyno charts you'll see that the Sniper tune got me 7 to20 HP in the 3500 to 4500 rpm range--which is where you can really use it. The peak gain, which most people seem to focus on (because they don't know what they are talking about),was 6 HP.--------------------BTW: I got the plenum powdercoated in Candy Apple Red by a buddy at a local shop (it is was what they were loaded to do the day I walked in). Also, people ask all the time "when should I get a tune"--my answer is the day you get the car, either pay someone to do it or buy a tuner and learn to do it yourself--biggest "1st mod-bang-for-the-buck" there is...
