Default Aftermarket Guages

I am looking to buy some aftermarket guages like water temp and oil pressure or somethinkg like that. I have heard that its not safe to run mechanical guages if your hooking the guages up inside the car. Is this true? I am hearing mixed reviews.

Default RE: Aftermarket Guages

I used autometer cobalt full sweep electrical. You don't want the possibility of hot oil in the drivers compartment. Ease of install for electrical guages also.
