RE: problems when turning!!!
Okay.. I'm just thinking of other possibilities, that would cause the axle to shift like that.. Realistically, I'm willing to bet it's a toss up between bushings or a bad axle.. Besides, with your plans, I'm surprised you haven't done the rear end yet..
If it's not axles, you could always look into upgrading your rear to either a 5-Link or a Watts linkage, which if I'm not mistaken, you can adjust pinion angle, and be able to center the axle completely and perfectly under the body.. That, and it'll provide a better ride, on top of being much better than the regular live-axle configuration..

I would check under there and make sure nothing is broken... take a prybar to the control arms and make sure it dont move... I would check everything before I tore it apart and replaced the axles... but thats just me.

ok. i put it up on jack stands today before work and this is what i found. i have two torn and damaged torque boxes. they look almost twisted and cracked. i had the car up in the air a couple weeks ago and everything seemed to look good. could possibly getting rear ended cause this?

Well, it may have.. I don't know how much it would adversely affect it though.. It sounds like when you launched it, the anchor points just had enough.. I'm sure you've launched the car hard a few times before, so it may have just been an existing fatigue point..
I wonder how much it'd cost for a body shop to fix.. I've never had that problem before..
