about an hour ago my charging system light turned on in 2nd gear at 5k RPM, im really confused; the car has 80k miles on it should my alternator really be going bad? o its a 1999 vert GT 5-speed.

it very well could be your alt or batt.. get them tested. simple as that

so i should just take the alternator out and take it to autozone?
