here is the issue. the lock to my trunk failed or (more likely somebody wrecked it while trying to break in). i can put the key all the way in, but it wont turn at all evenwith alot of force. i cant get in from the inside because my sub box is so big that it takes up the whole opening into the trunk from the inside and i cant reach in there, and to get the box out i need to first remove the subs from the trunk side due to height so thats not possible.

so how can iget into it? drill it out? i want to avoid calling a locksmith... and i can get a new cylinder from autozone for like $30 so if i wreck the lock itself it is not a big deal.

Does the sub box completely block the trunk from inside? If not can you use a coat hangar or something to pull that little handle that opens the trunk from the inside (if you have one) ? It glows in the dark in my trunk and would be pretty easy to hook and pull I think.

Not all stangs have one, i have a 97 GT and there is nbo trunk release button just the key
