Idling Problem
Hey guys I have a 02 Mustang GT, and the other day I was jump starting another car, with some jumper cables, so I connected everything correctly and the other car started, but then when I disconnected the cable from the other car I accidentally made contact with both cables, and sparks flew. In other word I made a short. All of this happened while the mustang was still connected and the car on. Then all off the sudden I heard that my car was sounding louder than usual like if I was hitting the gas, but I wasn't. I looked at the RMP gauge and it was at 1 RPM instead of it being at the half RPM that it's suppose to be at when parked. Its Idling weird plz help What did I do? Did I mess up the computer?

RE: Idling Problem
Im kinda new to workin on my own 02 GT, but i have had problems with it in the past. Anyways as strange as this may sound, when i was having a breathing problem with it I unhooked the battery and let it sit for a few mins then hooked it all back up. The check engine light went off and the stang went back to sounding pretty again dunno if itll work but it did for me.

RE: Idling Problem
it couldve just screwed up ur battery which will make it idle wierd the same exact thing happen at wrk evn thho i wrk on boats the batteries had enough power to start the engine to run but it ran horribly it keep goin up and down just like urs my boss said if the batteries dont hav enough power it will throw it off so i put a jumper box on it and it ran perfect. ALso evn tho its not ur electical i had to change the fuel filter also so this made it run better to. i doubt u screwed ur computer up with such a litte short just do as mentioned above take it off maybe charge it full and then put it back in and see if tht fixes the problem.
