Tire Diameter
Anyone have any suggestions for the front tires on a 15 by 4in rim?
Im trying to match the back tires in diameter while watching cost
Diameter of the back wheels are 26.6 any suggestions would be nice.
Im just afraid of the ABS light going off on my car how much difference is there before they go off? 2 inchs?

RE: Tire Diameter
what size tires do you have on the back?
go here www.1010tires.com and go to the tire calculator
i put in 275/45/17 and 255/60/15 the diameters of those are 26.74 and 27.04
i guess just go there, put in your rear size and fool with the numbers for the 15 in wheel to match em up as best you can.
hope that helps

RE: Tire Diameter
Calculate a constant by taking you current tire diameter, subtracting 15, dividing by 2, and multiplying by 25.4 to convert it it millimeters: 26.6 - 15 = 11.6 / 2 * 25.4 = 147.3 -> this is the sidewall height in mm.Nowdivide the sidewall height by the standard aspect ratios expresed as decimal fraction; I.e. 60 = 0.60, 55 = 0.55, etc. 147.3 / .50 = 294.6; so a 295/50-15 would be about the same diameter;
147.3 / .55 = 267.8; so a 265/55-15 would be about the same diameter;
147.3 / .60 = 245.5;= 245/60-15;
147.3 / .65 = 226.6;= 225/65-15;Engineering: The art of making what you want from what youcan get...
