Phantom noise found need help
I've posted before about the phantom ticking noise that I had after installing BBK LT's & BBK catted H. Before I describe the problem I want to mention there was a different louder ticking before the install that the shop fixed. They said it was the flange ticking from the mid pipe to the cat back. After that was fixed other noises surfaced (or now could be heard) because the louder noise was no longer drowning them out.
So we put the car on a lift and put smoke in the exhaust to find the exhaust leaks. There wasn't any at all. So we turned the car on and raised the car back up. The ticking noise was coming from the transmission, or transmission area (not exhaust at all). Literally when you put your ear under the transmission, that's where the ticking is coming from.
When the fan turns on for a brief second, the ticking stops. When put under load by being put into high gear the ticking doesn't stop. When pushing the clutch in, the ticking is still their so that aleviates the TOB.
Also the ticking CANNOT be heard from the engine bay at all. It only is coming from under the transmission.
I did have a Fidanza aluminum flywheel installed in september along with a new clutch and TOB. I have Royal Purple synchromax fluid in there that was just put in under 1,000 miles ago.
Any idea as to what can cause this?

RE: Phantom noise found need help
Do you get any drivetrain vibration at all, whether you baby it or get on it??
How long ago did the noise start?? Was it around the time your flywheel was installed??

It's hard to say because the shifter is VERY notchy (hurst), and all other noises were covered previously from the severe exhaust leak I had before. So I don't know when it started.
