how many quarts of fluid will it take and can i just pore the fluid throw the shifter hole?

no. go buy a little plastic pump. Walmart has them or any parts store. It comes with a pump and all you have to do is put it on the bottle of tranny fluid. T45's love redline ATF fluid. The syncros feel way better with it and shifts smoother.

idk how much it took i just bought a gallon of Redline ATF from summit or jegs.

I poured mine threw the shifter hole. 3.25 quarts. Should not matter where you fill it as long as it drians, which it does.

I filled mine through the shifter... seemed much easier to me. get to sit in a seat as opposed to lay under the car (unless you have a lift)
