its not good to have alot of backlash. and deffinately if its making noise I'd take it back and see what they will do for you.

Go back...friend had whining gears due to incorrect installation. Gears were ruined. Sued the shop for parts+labor. Won the case in court. Went to a Ford dealer and had them install a new set.

i had mine professionally installed it was whining really bad i brought it back they fixed it the bolts loosened up in the gear and were gettin torn apart the mechanic said i must of did a major burnout haha ya okay guy my car was stock then those gears are good for alot more then that those dumbasses never locktited them and torqued they were fordracing373

Your supposed to have a little backlash. between 8-12 I believe. Problem is to check that you have to have the right tool and know what your doing.
