I just did CMS Stage 1's myself. I have a 5 sp, so I can't comment on converter, but it didn't launch very well which lead to PIA driveability until I had it tuned. After the tune though, it drives the way it should have come from the factory. I would HIGHLY recommend getting cams as long as you get the tune.

I don't know what is wrong with your all's cars that they don't get off the line well with the stage 2 cams. I have crower stage II NA hi lift with stage 2 patriot heads and my car launches very well. I will pin you in your seat launching at 2k RPM's. It's all in the tune... That and learn how to drive. It does wonders.
the difference is you have a 5 speed we are talking autos.

i know it doesnt require one, but after installing CMS stage I NA cams, what would be an ideal stall speed? 2800? 3200?

Not meaning to jack but im going to add some questions in if you dont mind mustang289

How much power will be gained from the cushman stage 1 cams?
Will the lope be noticeable with the stage 1s?

Anyone have a link from the best vendor for these cams?

I just had an SLP catted X pipe and Comp 262AH cams installed and picked up 19 RWHP (265 at 4900 rpm). The engine revsstrongly to 6000 rpms now.
I was a little disappointed in the peak gain but I will say that I was very pleased in that I picked up torque gains everywhere except right off idle, and from 2800 to 3400 rpms where I had a slight loss. I picked up 10 RWTQ at peak (299 RWTQ at 4200). In sedate driving the car feels noticeably peppier). FYI, I have other bolt ons including CAI, upper plenum, 70mm throttle body, 373s, Flowmasters.
