Default Things I should look for when buying:

If you read my post in the "New Members" forum you know that I'm in the market for a 2004 GT.
Since I don't have a whole lot of first hand experience with Mustangs, I would really appreciate some pointers on what flaws to look for.
Any common problems that Mustangs seem to develop? Any specific questions I should be asking? Anything could be something I overlook so reply if anything comes to mind.

Thanks,
Sauce

Make sure the cluth isnt worn
it hasnt been beaten on.

Im not sure what to look for because mustangs are pretty tough lol

make sure it shifts fine..and drive more than one so you can compare. if it has mods make sure they were done right...run a carfax on it if you want.

make sure when test driving, that you get on the gas, and get the rpms up close to redline...then shift. when shifing....listen closely to make sure it doesnt grind going into any of the gears!!

the syncros in these trannys are notorious for fuggin up early. there are even TSB's on the issue from ford. i had to take my 04 in to get the syncros replaced under warranty, back when she only had about 30k on her. it started out with the occasional grind going from 2nd into 3rd (when driving hard/fast/rpms high)....eventually it got to where it would grind going into 3rd no matter what.

make sure you test out every gear for the syncros grinding!!
