Alright, I Need Some Help With Tranny and Diff
Heres the deal. After highway driving of over 25 miles, and I get off the highway, you can hear two wierd noises. The first sounds as though it is coming from the transmission (TR-3650) and I can best describe it as a rubbing sound. It only does it when I turn left of right, not when driving straight. The fluid was just changed 2000 miles ago. It does not make this noise unless I drive on a highway for a little while and then get off. The 2nd noise is coming from the rear end. It again will only make noise after highway driving and I get off. When I turn, there is a moan coming from back there. I was thinking of trying to change the fluid and see if that helps. I was talking to a friend of mine with a 97 cobra, and he suggested trying to add more friction modifier first. Also, it will still spin both wheels, and not peg leg if that helps.

Noise when turning
Look for issues with suspension bushings or wheel bearings. You may have rear wheel bearings going bad. Often these will get noisy after they get hot from the friction of running up the highway, then they will grind when you sway left or right as more pressure is put on them when there is side pressure on your wheels. The noise can be transmitted into the chassis via the axle shafts, making it sound like you have rear end or driveline issues. I have never heard of noise coming from a 3650 based on turning left or right. Let me know what you find out. I may learn something too.
