axle swap

i have a 99 cobra which still has its annoying, anti drag launch IRS and i found someone with a 98 cobra who is interested in an axle swap. is it possible from a 99 to a 98, or do i have to stay withing the 99-04 family for a solid rear axle.

Its totally possible to swap. They are all 8.8" axles.

Jglisson, he wants to swap because IRS is junk for drag racing. They axle hop under hard acceleration with high traction.
