Default heads?

sorry, i'm a newb, but,
with an '02 GT, would getting new heads be worth it?
http://www.lmperformance.com/c/6/50.html

like those; stage2's something.. would they make much of a HP increase?

(just curious..)

or are those the same as the PI heads which I already have with a 99+ GT?

also, are the cams on that page any good?

thanks!

No, your car already has the best heads (PI Aluminum). You can send them to get Stage II porting and polishing though for an extra 60-70 HP increase ..............I did for my 00 GT.

How much would that cost?

And who does that type of stuff.. mechanics?

Or is it possible to do it on my own?

you dont want to do it on your own. you have to take it to a machine shop. you want it done by a CNC machine so you dont have your air twisting and flipping in all different directions.

Maybe if you had FI you'd see 60-70hp increase. If not, NO WAY would porting and polishing get you that much. Even new springs, retainers, porting, and polsighin won't get you that much rwhp.

The heads he is talking about are PI aluminum heads, they are just ported, polished, and have new springs/valves etc installed.

If you are really really lucky, and you already have aftermarket cams installed, you might see 30 or so RWHP. A N/A car will never see anything like 60-70 RWHP or Flywheel HP.

BTW, unless you are planning on doing a camswap at the same time, and you already have "full boltons", aka exaust, intake (down to the upper plenum) etc, there is no reason to spend the money on headwork. The stock exaust/intake isn't going to see huge gains with the heads, as they are already flowing more than they can handle.
