"Lifter clatter"
Trying again, original thread disappeared...
'04 GT, almost 50,000 miles, full with 5-20 syn blend oil:
On cold start-up, sometimes after only 4-5 hours, I hear what can best be described as "lifter clatter". Sorta like a push rod motor with hydraulic lifters that's low on oil.
It lasts only a second or two and then sounds normal.
Wondering if the timing chain tensioner(s) could be faulty? Is this a common issue with the 4.6?

Mods, the OP said someone deleted his post a couple days ago for some reason, so leave this one here.
I'd say if it goes away after a couple seconds, there's nothing to worry about. There is a sticky for lifter noise. Let me see if I can find it.
