its a hydroboost issue and yes i would have it serviced ASAP.

vacuum leak some where had the same problem, the breaker hose that goes from the tb to the passenger side valve cover had a huge slit in it allowing it to leak

yeah, I'd still go manual brakes but I am old school. 65 pontiac GTO 400hp manual brakes and I love it, its not all spongey.
