Default Real fast speedo

OK I am new to mustangs and just got a 96 GT Convertable 5 SPd when I drive it and doing about 20MPH the speedo reads 110MPH I do not know what is causing this if someone can give me some insite to this and a way to fix that would be great also when at high way speeds when I hit around 60MPH it feels like a speedlimiter kicks on and the engine cuts till it slows down then comes back. I do not know if this is tied in with the speedometer problem or not.

PLease Help!!!

Sounds like you have a bad speedo sensor...or along those lines...It's all elec controlled with your car!

Default Sensor differance

ok first off I got a new sensor for the car and it turns out it is differant than the one in the tranny. The auto parts store gave me the one that needs the gear on it. And the one in the tranny just looks like a plug with a magnet dot on the end.

fi you go to rockauto dot com and look up the speed sensor for a 1996 mustang gt it will show the two. Is this normal what transmission do I have? why is mine different? Why is rock auto the only place I found that list thisone for the mustang gt.
