Default head question?

What’s up guys? Not having to much luck with the search feature, and wanted some advise. I’m looking to do the pi swap and am not sure what path to take. One is ford racing heads/cams with new intake and bbk lt’s with dyno tune. The shop said with parts (down to new plugs and fluids) and labor it would be around $3800.
The second choice is ported heads, stage II cams, python intake, lt’s and tune. This route seems to make more sense to get the extra power for not that much more expense.
If I do go the second route what are the best heads/port/cams/intake to go with that work well together, the guy at the shop doesn’t seem to like patriot to much? Any reasons that you guys know.
Helpful advise wanted.
Thanks

Is this all new parts. I would but some used heads. Try to get the cost down. On the cams is this a n/a or fi set up? How much is just labor? Am think what you will need is about 2300 in part. that would put labor at about 1600.

I agree with Bo

Find some decent used PI heads, take em to a local machine shop for a nice valve job and port. Get some CMS st2 cams, get a used PI intake, and LTs.. Should be good for about 300 rwhp if tuned right

yes these are priced off of all new parts and your price breakdown is about right (the labor does include the dyno tune), and i would like f/i down the road. i was thinking about porting and rebuilding my heads but between the machine time and parts and labor, im not sure it would be worth it. does anyone know about what that would cost and or what heads/cams setup is best for power?
thanks

I would think you will have to change the pistons out. Maybe down to a 8.5. The one you have will put you up to like 10.1 or so.
