Exclamation HELP!!! My mustang is choking

So I was out driving my mustang, and I got on it for a second, but when I did, the gas pedal stopped responding. When I pulled over to see what the hell just happened, my car died. Now when I drive it, it sounds like crap, it sound like its about to die, and I smell a hint of gas. Can someone PLEASE help me?

I don't see my check engine light on, so I'm guessing not. Of course, I dont know, cause when I had my car worked on, the mechanic said my car had thrown abunch of codes but no check engine light was on then either

That seems to be a bit of an extreme symptom to not throw a code. may be the throttle position sensor. Did it bog and then go or just not respond at all?

Its most likely ur mass air sensor if it didnt throw a code. Its not allowing you to take fuel
