Default new engine

my engine has 186,000+ miles and im not sure how much longer it will last. i want to have atleast a good idea of what im going to do when it goes out because this is my daily driver. this car is an automatic so keep that in mind when making suggestions.

i want the least expensive route to make between 350-400hp and comparable torque #'s when all is said and done. i dont care if it involves a supercharger or not, if its the least expensive route. i would like to not have to change much to the car as far as mounts and all that. i would also like to keep fuel injection. i dont care if its a crate engine, a used 2v, used 4v, stripping my old engine and forging it and what not or just starting with a new block and going from there. im just looking for the cheapest route to make 350-400hp and torque.

lets see what u guys got for me. I have been following the engine build thread where 99BlackPonyGT is using a brand new 460 block but i think that will be too expensive for me...

Cheapest route would probably be to pick up a low mile used motor out of a wrecked stang, and then toss nitrous kit. If you look around you can pick the motor up for under $1000 with low miles( I just picked one up im going to forge out with 30k for 600 bucks). Then you can get a complete used nitrous kit, with all the safety bells and whistles for about $600.

I've seen some 99-01 cobra complete engines for sell for around $2000-2500 the last couple of months. but those are only rated at 320 hp at the crank. I think you best bet since you dont want spray would be to pick up a low mile 2v and put a used s/c kit on there. You can find used complete kits for sale for 1500-2500 all over the place. Then as long as you stay under 400rwhp your engine should be ok, but if your wanting to go over 400 your going to need to put forged internal in there.

ill look at anything as long as its cheap and will get me 350-400hp. i want it to be a direct swap though, i dont want to have to change the suspension or make more room for it.
