Default Mysterious power loss between 1st & 2nd

I got a question. I drive an automatic 2003 mustang gt, yeah I know, and I've been noticing a very annoying lack of power when the trans shifts from 1st to 2nd. Strangely sometimes when rolling away from a red light at part throttle my trans shifts from 1st to 2nd to 1st again then all the power is gone and wont climb in rev's then boom! power comes on and I take off. It's freaking' weird. I was wondering if it could be a throttle cable issue or something else sticking? Help me out!

check the trans fluid, you could have a band going out in the transmission. What happends if you shift the car manually?
