Default modding fuel system

i was talking to a buddy of mine a few days ago, and he was telling me that if i changed out my fuel injectors i would fug things up in the system. i reminded him i was changing the injectors and the MAF at the same time so i thought it would account for things. Would this mess up the A/F, mpg, or nothing?

also, if i changed the pump for a better one (down the road) would that also change things up too??

I'm not as educated on fuel as other things thought id ask here first, thanks!

If the maf is calibrated for 24lb injectors I think it should keep the a/f ratio in check, and if you upgrade your pump it won't mess with anything since it's still regulated at a certain psi, the pump just wont have to work as hard to supply the car.

thanks, thought so. Only when the regulator is modded the A/F and mpg get messed with. I was just making sure, i thought of it like a camera at first, and the shutter speed as the injector, and with the same speed of opening and closing there would be the same amount that went through with the same PSI pushing it.

another thing i was wonder about, does our cars cut the fuel off when down shifting, like to a stop sign. I do that to save my brakes a little, but i will not do it if it means fuel being used as if it was at 2.5k

Why are you changing injectors and maf anyway? They won't give you any more power. Even if the MAF is calibrated your going to need a tune to get driveability perfect.

Yes the computer cuts fuel when you lift off the gas above 1500rpms.

oh, when i bought my pi heads, the "package" came with 24lber's and a maf for them, i though why not. I might end up getting a sniper tuner, im waiting for another "deal", i just missed the package deal for the snipers on here... too bad.

but anyways, you dont think i "need" them, but if i already have them, would be worse to have them in without a tune, i mean im going to do my pi swap soonish, so everything will be out of wack anyways...

thanks for the fuel cut off info too btw

24lbs and a matching maf will help you out once you get it all tuned up with your sniper tuner. the 19lbs will support your mods but you dont want to run your inj at a higher duty cycle than necessary especially since you have the 24lbs just laying around.

anyone have a used sniper they want to sell, lol.

but yea, i'm going to try to install them before my swap to see if they work fine so i will know at least they are working if something in the PI swap doesn't...
