cant tell for sure but think my car is pinging, put premium gas in it and octane booster but still exactly the same, doesnt exactly sound like pinging but has a lot of valve noise, car runs fine. i have been running the premium gas since get go . wondering if anyone else with a 98 gt with the swap and cobra oil pump has heard any type of valvetrain noise. its not that its loud, its just there and its at all engine speeds and loads

not sure what it is from what you've said, but, your best bet might be to open up your valve covers and check just to make sure everything is doing what its suppose to be doing. Check that the rockers aren't lose (bad lash adjuster), and that the cam bolts are torque to the correct number.

THE heads are brand new from jegs, but i didnt check the torque on the caps.
