My 01 GT that has a strange noise coming from the rear when I go forward or in reverse. I sounds like something is popping when the car's momentum goes from one way to another. I have changed shocks and tightened everthing I can find in the back but the noise never stops. The car runs and drives fine but that noise is annoying as hell and I can't get it to stop. I am hoping some of you may have had the same problem and found an answer. Any suggestion for a solution would be greatly appreciated. Like I said, when the car's momemtum goes from one way to another, it makes the noise. It does not do it going over bumps or while riding down the road. Just when I take off or go in reverse.

It may be the universal joint on the drive shaft were it connects to the tranny or at the differential, its loose. I could almost bet you. Check it out and if im right, let me know.

Also check the tranny mounts, but the symptoms for the drive shaft is if you pull forward then revers or vise versa, it "clunks".
