Motor Swap on 1999-2004 Mustang GT?
I'm going to be buying a 1999-2004 Mustang GT this summer, and was wondering a little something about motor swaps and what not. I was wondering if it would be possible to swap in a 4.6 or a 5.4 from one of the newer Mustang's into the model that I buy, and if so, about how much would it cost? I also would like to know if it would just be a better idea to stroke and bore over the motor, or rebuild it.
Suggestions? Help?

Youre best bet is either get a 32V 4.6 or build up the 16V it has. Putting a 2005+ 24V is going to require too much customization and swapping to a 5.4 isn't going to gain you much. Then again, if you want something nice and streetable, just get a Procharger. Thats assuming you're ok with having a 400-450rwhp car.

allllllllllllll depends on ur budget and just how fast you wanna go
you want stupid fast and found a good deal on a wrecked navigator motor? then take that its a dohc 5.4, with a few mods on it, it will have some real nice torque

Well, I know that the 1999-2004 Mustang GT models are rated at 260HP. I am not looking for crazy numbers like 700HP or anything, but I would like more. I do not plan to race the car or anything, but I still want to have a lot of power. My friend told me a motor swap would be better to do than rebuilding or putting performance parts in because once you start upgrading a motor, it just wants more and more, and that it never runs the same as it used to. Basically, a good 300 - 450HP is what I'm looking for. Could a supercharger get me that?
